Frequently complicated, various sizes across the continent and America ensures that sizing clothes to fit specific age groups is as much a headache for retailers as it is for parents. A rule that many follow is that French clothes tend to be small fitting and American clothes tend to be huge.

The following Table should be used as a guide only, and is what many companies refer to as the ‘average’. If your child is 18 months you might be interested in the row 18/24 meaning 18 months up to 24 months.

Best selling designer labels from Figaroo Kids include Jean Bourget, Deux par deux, Catimini, Petit Bateau and many more. The following chart is meant as a guide only and is based on our own experience and from the feedback from our customers.

A * means we are referring to previous seasons wear as this is what we stock. Designers may have changed their sizing. The tables below are meant as a guide. Please e-mail us if you are at all unsure and we can always supply measurements.

Deux par Deux
Slim fitting except for skirts which have quite a generous waist. More in line with French than General sizes. See charts below.
Catimini
True to height. You may need to go up a size as the heights are smaller than high street labels. More in line with the French chart below.
Marese *
Tends to run small
Oilily *
Tends to be a generous fit. Use the height as a 'from' rather than 'up to'!
Jean Bourget
Small in the past this is generally true to size and now runs consistent with UK high street sizing.
Pampolina *
Fairly Generous
Balu *
True to size for height but slim fitting
Petit Bateau
See French size chart below for accurate height for this size. Smaller than general sizing.
Little Darlings *
In line with general sizing as below. More generous than the French brands.
